Background

The cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) protein is a member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily, and a member of the MRP subfamily that is involved in multi-drug resistance (1,2). CFTR functions as a chloride channel and controls the regulation of other transport pathways (3). Mutations in this gene are associated with the autosomal recessive disorder cystic fibrosis, the most common, fatal, inherited disease of caucasian populations (1).

Conjugated Peptide
Anti-CFTR antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with an 18 amino acid peptide near the C-terminus of human CFTR.
Anti-CFTR antibody was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography. CFTR antibody is human, mouse and rat reactive.

Application Details

ELISA, IF, IHC, WB
Anti-CFTR Antibody has been tested for use in ELISA, Western Blotting, Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Expect a band at approximately 168 kDa in Western Blots of specific cell lysates and tissues. Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, and Immunofluorescence tested in human samples. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.
