Background

mGluR7 pS862 antibody detects mGluR7 when phosphorylated at Ser862. Metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluRs) are key receptors in the modulation of excitatory synaptic transmission in the central nervous system. They are implicated in many forms of neural plasticity as well as learning and memory and drug abuse. The mGluRs are divided into three groups based on sequence identity and pharmacological properties: group I (mGluR1 and mGluR5) are localized in the perisynaptic region of the postsynaptic membrane, whereas group II (mGlur2 and mGluR3) and group III (mGluR4,6,7 and 8) are localized predominantly at presynaptic terminals. PKC phosphorylation of serine 862 on mGluR7 has been shown to be critical for stabilizing receptor surface expression and promoting binding to the synaptic PDZ-domain-containing protein PICK1. Therefore, mGluR7 pS862 antibody is ideal for investigators involved in neuronal circuitry and more generally in Neuroscience.

Conjugated Peptide
Anti-mGluR7 pS862 Antibody was produced in rabbit by repeated immunizations with synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Ser 862 conjugated to KLH.
Anti mGluR7 pS862 antibody is directed against mGluR7 phosphorylated at Ser862. GluR7 antibody is affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification. Immunolabeling is blocked by preadsorption of antibody with the phospho-peptide used as antigen but not by the corresponding dephosphopeptide. The antibody is a total IgG fraction. Expect reactivity with the following species based on sequence homology: bovine, canine, human, non-human primate and zebrafish. Cross reactivity with mGluR7 from other species has not been determined.

Application Details

WB
Anti-mGluR7 pS862 (Rabbit) antibody is tested for use in Western Blotting. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band of approximately 102 kDa in size corresponding to the mGluR7 protein phosphorylated at Ser862 in the appropriate cell lysate or extract.
