Background

Streptavidin is a bacterial protein (from Streptomyces avidinii) that has an exceptionally high binding affinity for biotin. β-galactosidase, also called beta-gal or β-gal, is a hydrolase enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of β-galactosides into monosaccharides. This Streptavidin is conjugated to beta galactosidase.

SA, S avidin, streptococcus avidin, streptavidin Beta Galactosidase [E.coli], BGAL
Beta Galactosidase (E.coli)

Target Details

This product was prepared from electrophoretically pure Streptavidin.  Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-beta galactosidase (E.coli) and anti-Streptavidin.  No reaction was observed against anti-Avidin.

Application Details

ELISA
Streptavidin Beta Galactosidase conjugate has been tested by ELISA and is assayed against 1.0 µg of biotinylated IgG in a standard capture ELISA using ONPG as a substrate for 30 minutes at room temperature.  A working dilution of 1:100 to 1:3,000 is suggested for this product.
