Sodium acetate is the conjugate base of a weak acid. Solution of sodium acetate and acetic acid can act as a buffer to keep a relatively constant pH. This is useful especially in biochemical applications where reactions are pH dependent.

Target Details

Purity/Specificity: This product was aseptically filtered through a Millipore 0.22 micron filter into clean, pre-sterilized containers. The product was tested on trypticase soy agar for 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours and was found to be negative for bacteria.

Application Details

Application Note: Sodium Ethanoate is a concentrated stock solution and should be diluted appropriately with distilled, deionized water or equivalent to its final working concentration. This buffer contains 3.0 M Sodium Acetate at pH 5.2 meticulously prepared using ultra pure reagents dissolved in highly polished pharmaceutical grade deionized water.
