Background

IRAK-M (Interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase M). Interleukin-1 (IL-1) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induce cellular response through IL-1 receptor (IL-1R) and Toll like receptors (TLR). Through IL-1/Toll receptors, IL-1 receptor-associated kinase (IRAK and IRAK2) mediates the activation of NF-kB (1,2); a pivotal transcription factor mediating inflammatory and immune response.  A novel member in the IRAK/Pelle family was recently identified and designated IRAK-M (3). IRAKs associate with IL-1/Toll receptors after IL-1 or LPS stimulation and the dominant negative mutants of IRAKs inhibit IL-1 or LPS induced NF-kB activation. Members of the IRAK/Pelle family play a central role in IL-1R/TLR mediated inflammatory responses to cytokine IL-1 and LPS. Anti-IRAK-M is ideal for investigators involved in Cytokines and Growth Factor research.

Conjugated Peptide
IRAK-M Antibody was produced from whole rabbit serum prepared by repeated immunizations with a peptide corresponding to amino acids from the c-terminus of human IRAK-M.
Anti-IRAK-M Antibody was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with IRAK-M with Human, Mouse and Rat based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Cross-reactivity with IRAK-M from other sources has not been determined. Antibody has no cross to IRAK or IRAK2.

Application Details

ELISA, IF, IHC, WB
Anti-IRAK-M Antibody is tested with ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and western blot.  Expect a band approximately 68 kDa in size corresponding to IRAK-M protein by western blotting in the appropriate cell lysate or extract. Western Blot tested in mouse and rat samples; Immunohistochemistry in human and rat samples, and Immunofluorescence in mouse and rat samples. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.
