Armenian Hamster IgG isotype Control Description

Background
Immunoglobulin G is the most abundant antibody isotype found in the circulation. IgG molecules are synthesized and secreted by plasma B cells. IgG antibodies are generated following class switching and maturation of the antibody response and thus participate predominantly in the secondary immune response. IgG is secreted as a monomer that is small in size allowing it to easily perfuse tissues. IgG antibodies are large molecules of about 150 kDa composed of four peptide chains. It contains two identical class ? heavy chains of about 50 kDa and two identical light chains of about 25 kDa, thus a tetrameric quaternary structure. Armenian Hamster I gG whole molecule is ideal for investigators involved in serum protein component research.
Storage Condition
Store vial at 4° C prior to restoration. For extended storage aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Application Note
ARMENIAN HAMSTER IgG whole molecule can be utilized as a control or standard reagent in Western Blotting and ELISA experiments. Specific conditions should be optimized by user.
Purity/Specifity
ARMENIAN HAMSTER IgG whole molecule was prepared from normal serum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above.  Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Armenian Hamster IgG.  Greatly diminished reactivity will occur against anti-Golden Syrian Hamster IgG.
